After a year of suffering from:
- Inconsiderate neighbours who don't bat an eyelid before throwing pizzas, bottles, eggs and what nots down our balcony
- Lousy service we received from the housing agent
- Nasty landlord who refuses to agree to our request to extend an additional year of lease (she offered only 6 months despite repeated pleas for extension)
Hot Babe and I decided that enough was enough! We were not going to take shit any longer! So we began to search proactively for apartments around the Southbank area and managed to get 1 just a traffic light away within 2 weeks!
Extremely pleased with our efficiency, we commenced preparations to terminate the lease at our old apartment, ask for quotations of movers, etc.
To our dismay, our nasty agent tried to make things difficult for us! Firstly, she tried to convince us to extend our lease for 6 months. When she realised that we weren't gonna budge, she told us that it was not possible for us to move out by the date we wanted as we are supposed to provide her with 28 days notice despite her inefficiency in responding to our requests.
The agent probably didn't realise that she was messing with the wrong company. Given that I was on secondment to a company and was quite free, assertive me decided to give her a piece of my mind by lodging a complaint against her with the Victorian Consumer Affairs. Then, I shot her a nasty email to lecture her on her lousy service, afterwhich it followed into a unpleasant telephone exchange between her and I ending with me telling her that she is a deluded individual.
With so much going on, it was good that I had some time to spare. But I gotta admit that I was kind of pissed with Hot Babe that I had to arrange lots of stuff by myself. As always, we trashed things out and all went well. :)
Being cheapos, we decided to move house ourselves as the movers were just trying to rip us off! Imagine paying $300 for them to move such a short distance! We reckoned we will just sweat it out and get some friends to help us out!
So the nightmare began on friday night. After dinner, we started moving our stuff bit by bit. Only then did we realise that we got so much stuff! By 5+ in the morning, we couldn't take it anymore! Slept for awhile before we met up with friends for brekkie and continuing our ordeal. Saturday was one of the most tiring days of my life. I never imagined moving house, especially just for 1 year worth of stuff to be so massive! Thankfully, by 6+, we were all set up! Really got to thank all friends who helped us out! :D
So ladies and gentlemen, I hereby present to you our stylo little nest!

Finally, we can view the night scenery from the 18th floor! Standing in the balcony at night looking out really gives me the kind of 'rich man' feeling!
Our humble kitchen, it even comes with a dishwasher! Am sure that brought a smile to Hot Babe's face.
Our toilet resembles that of a posh hotel toilet.
Can you imagine the washing area was neatly hidden at the corner of the toilet? Really great space utilisation!
Pretty classy eh, there's even a bathtub!
This is the view from our balcony! You can even see PwC! Haha, yes, that's how near we are to the workplace. Keke.
Now that we are settled into our new nest, everything seems to have fallen into place. I can finally feel at peace without worrying about whether we have a place to stay for the next year. After a year of living with Hot Babe, we are beginning to get more and more comfortable with each other it is so scary. Our friends always comment that we are like a married couple! Oh man oh man!
Anyway, we are both just very very glad and pleased with our new place! If any of you happen to visit Melbourne, don't forget to give us a buzz!
