Who Am I

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You're

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

I am Yours
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
'Cause I am Yours
I am Yours

When I heard this song for the first time, I was touched to tears. Its lyrics are very meaningful, reminding me that we are so insignificant and yet God would sent his son down to die for us and He would care to have a personal relationship with us. Indeed, who are we but a fading flower, a vapour in the wind? James said this of our existence: "What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." Millions of millions have come before us, and millions of millions will continue to come after we have gone the way of the earth. If we are just one in infinity, our value comes not from the fact that we are special (because we are not), but rather from the fact that God chose to love us. Given our rebellious, ungrateful nature, He could have chosen to give up on us totally. But instead, He chose to love us and send Jesus down to die on the cross, taking the penalty for our sins on Himself. "The Lord of all the earth" didn't have to do that, but He did it. Jesus once said that there is no greater love than that a man would give up his life for his brother, and he did exactly that for us. All because He loves us.

Amen Brother. Thanks for this wonderful sharing of this meaningful song lyrics and your thoughts.

As I read on your thoughts, this verse from John 3:16 came to my mind. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life".

Indeed, we are just one in the millions that have come and are to come. For the past few weeks, I have attended an intercessor training course at Living Hope Methodist church on every Monday evening. Today training focuses on the revival of the Methodist Churches, especially on the younger generation. Daniel prayed for you, Michelle, me and him that we continue to grow in our spiritual walk with the Lord and continue to bring the revival for the Methodist churches in Spore among the younger generation of the Methodist Churches. Let's keep on going brother and buddy Michelle!

Also, I signed up for a intercessionary prayer counselling session to do outreach in Geylang area, mainly to reach out for the Red Light District people. If my memory didnt fail me, you worship in Geyland Chinese Methodist Church rite? Interested to join me in this outreach since its all about the Geylang area? Drop me a note la brother!

Brother Lionel, continue your good works through Youths for Christ and at your workplace! Meet you next week for lunch =)

Buddy Michelle, hope you are doing very well in Melb. I saw from the newspapers that weather over your side hovers 7-17 deg. Take care. It must been very cold each day now but winter is ending soon! Continue to grow spiritually k!

God bless both of you!

Rejoice!
Sister Joyce
